I had a question about why there wasn't much on the Department Social Network. Pat Smith gave the answer. This network is only as good as the inputs from us. Our Social Network (thanks to Michael Smith) could be a really useful tool for all of us. If you or your Post has a question, maybe someone at Department, District, or another Post may have the answer. Use this network to "brag" about the things your Post is doing. And, if your Post has done something that really works, share it!

We have just received the formal certificate from the IRS making Colorado American Legion Boys State a 501(c)(3) nonprofit chairatable tax exempt organization. This is what we have been waiting for so we can apply for some grants from major foundations.

This would not have been possible without the great help from Barb and Bill Woods. They had experience in dealing with the IRS when they applied for and received a certification for Connecting Military Families. Thanks Barb and Bill.
